A Vision of Reinvestment
The Northland Region

The Northland Region has ambitious plans. We were New Zealand's first region and the location of the nations first capital. We are committed to investing in high qual ity community amenities to to match our unmatched living environment.

The New Multi-Events Centre

A brand new multi-function events centre located on Okara Drive, Whangarei, the Northland Events Centre is a multi-purpose stadium and is the home of the Northland Rugby Union. The stadium was first built in 1965 and has recently undergone a massive $20 million redevelopment with the new grandstand now known as the Northland Events Centre. The grounds capacity is officially 30,000 but, as is the way in the north, things can be stretched if they need to be – a rugby match in 1979 crammed 40,000 into the large embankment area.
